Journey of the Soul

November 15, 2018 — 6:00 pm Free

What is the journey of the soul, and how can we purify our own before death befalls us, and it is no longer one with our bodies?

From its origins in the heavens prior to the creation of our father, Adam AS, to its temporary stay in this current worldly life. Onwards to the stage of bodily separation, wherein we leave all that we know and our bodies advance to the grave. Our souls then lay in the realm of Barzakh, awaiting the Day of Reckoning. Once the Trumpet is heard, and all that is upon this earth perishes, we are brought in front of our Lord; both body and soul are asked to account for our deeds in this Dunya. The soul then reaches its final abode: an eternity of torment and grief, or a never-ending Paradise under which rivers flow.

Join Ustadha Amina Darwish, chaplain of Columbia University MSA, for a further discussion on the journey of our souls, and how we can ensure a happy ending for our own!

The event will take place in room L2.85 NB, at John Jay College.
