Our Responsibility to the Black Struggle in the Contemporary World

February 14, 2019 — 6:30 pm

“No Arab is more superior than a black and …..”

We’ve all heard this as a basis of Islam. Where Islam recognizes the different colors of our skins but does not divide us because of it. However, society has developed in a way in which this is the case.

February is Black History Month where we pay tribute to the generations of African Americans who not only struggle against racial and moral equality, but also fought to achieve full citizenship. History has shown us over and over again how the black community’s struggle has never seized and although we are aware of the struggles , it should go way more. It is not enought. Actions need to be taken.

So what is our responsibility, as Muslims, to the black struggle in this contemporary world?

Join us for our first WII event of the semster this upcoming Thursday as sister Adama Bah and sister Julde H. Ball identify our responsibility to the black community and the different ways we should stand by them.
