Majlis has officially acquired the historic property at 105 Barbey St, Brooklyn, NY 11207, a stunning neo-Gothic landmark encompassing 11,900 square feet. Located in the heart of Cypress Hills, this 1930s-era building is being transformed into a vibrant community hub and the home office for Majlis. The heart of the structure will feature a dedicated Masjid with a soaring, high-ceilinged sanctuary and mezzanine dedicated for sisters, supported by a ground floor designed for community life, complete with a classroom and a multipurpose hall featuring a full kitchen, stage and state of the art sound system. To ensure comfort and convenience for all visitors, the lower level will be fully dedicated to modern bathrooms and a specialized wudu area. Tying the project together, the two upper floors—nestled within the building’s iconic bell tower—will offer a serene environment for administrative operations, establishing a premier spiritual and educational cornerstone just steps from the Van Siclen Avenue subway station.
