Imam Certification Program (ICP)

The Imam Certification Program (ICP) provides imam ordination through a transparent and clearly defined process. Applicants are required to submit a résumé, verified religious degree credentials, and a formal letter of support from the authorized leadership of their masjid, followed by a formal interview conducted by our religious experts. This program is designed to ensure that imams serving New York’s diverse Muslim community meet recognized standards of scholarship, character, and readiness to lead. By combining traditional Islamic qualifications with contemporary expectations of public and civic leadership, ICP helps ensure that certified imams are well prepared to guide congregations, counsel families, and represent Islam with integrity and professional credibility.
