Association of Muslim American Lawyers (AMAL) 2019 Gala
Join us for 2019 AMAL 13th Anniversary Gala Dinner! The theme will be, “Checks and Balances: A Legal Safeguard Against Abuse of Power.” This year’s Gala will feature a fireside chat with former U.S. Attorney of the Southern District of New York, Preet Bharara.
AMAL is a minority bar association that organizes and participates in seminars and panel discussions fostering and promoting awareness of legal issues. For over thirteen years, AMAL has worked to educate lawyers on civil and individual freedoms in the context of American jurisprudence, with an emphasis on defending underserved minority communities. AMAL members work closely with a number of distinguished bar associations, law firms, government agencies, and nonprofits, all of whom, like AMAL, believe in promoting the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and justice under the law.
Indeed, AMAL has been at the forefront of many legal battles affecting minorities. AMAL filed amicus briefs on various legal issues, testified before courts, organizations, city halls and federal agencies, and conducted educational seminars on various legal topics.
